Recently, the tire-mounted straddle carrier manufactured by Haitai Crane was successfully delivered to the customer’s site and put into operation for the handling, loading and unloading of energy storage cabinets.
The delivered tire-mounted straddle carrier is mainly used for short-distance handling and truck loading and unloading during the production and transfer of energy storage cabinets. Considering the heavy weight and different sizes of energy storage cabinets, as well as the limited working space in production areas, the equipment adopts a tire-mounted traveling system and supports multiple traveling and steering modes according to site conditions, including straight travel, diagonal travel, lateral travel and in-place turning. These functions provide greater flexibility when moving energy storage cabinets between different working areas.
During actual operations, energy storage cabinets need to be transferred between production areas, storage areas and loading or unloading zones. Conventional handling equipment can be restricted when working in confined spaces or when frequent changes in travel direction are required.
With multiple traveling and steering modes, this tire-mounted straddle carrier can adjust its direction according to the available space and the actual handling route. In addition to conventional straight travel, it can move diagonally or laterally and turn in place. Energy storage cabinets are relatively heavy, placing higher requirements on equipment safety and on-site operation management during handling, loading and unloading.
The delivered tire-mounted straddle carrier is equipped with standard safety features, including an emergency stop system, warning devices, collision protection and video monitoring. During operation, the operator can use the video monitoring system to check the condition of the equipment and the load. If an abnormal situation occurs, the emergency stop system can be used to stop the equipment promptly.
The collision protection and warning devices are designed to improve safety during equipment operation and provide additional protection for energy storage cabinet handling and loading and unloading operations.
For the handling of standard containers and energy storage cabinets, the tire-mounted straddle carrier can be equipped with a standard retractable container spreader. The spreader can be adjusted according to the container dimensions and works together with the straddle carrier to complete lifting and transfer operations.
For containers with other specifications, the lifting lugs on the spreader can be used according to the actual lifting method. Chains, hooks and twist locks are connected to the corresponding locking holes underneath the container before lifting.
This lifting arrangement can accommodate the handling requirements of containers with different specifications while giving customers greater flexibility to adjust the lifting method according to the actual loads being handled.
The dimensions and weight of energy storage cabinets, production processes and yard conditions can vary from one customer to another. Therefore, tire-mounted straddle carriers are not limited to a single standard size.
